GRACE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH MISSIONS TEAM 2007 PLAN - endorsed by the Session - February, 2007
VISION/PURPOSE To help members of Grace Presbyterian Church share in the excitement of and maximize their impact on: 1) God's work in building His Kingdom, and 2) meeting the physical and spiritual needs of His people, on a local, regional and global basis.
MISSION The Missions Team will: 1) EVALUATE current resource allocations and develop policies for the evaluation and support of local, regional and global missions efforts to have maximum impact in accordance with established priorities that reflect the Church's resources, gifts and the communities served. Recommend to the Session mission budget amounts, guidelines, target percentages for missions giving, recommendations for support and one-time gifts. 2) COMMUNICATE regularly with and to the congregation and Session concerning the rich array of local, regional and global ministry involvement of members, spiritual and material needs of missions and missionaries we support, and the impact these have on the community. Develop a defined program of communications. 3) Encourage members to PARTICIPATE in and maximize their impact on local, regional and global missions efforts that fit their gifts, time and interests. The Missions Team will make recommendations to help further equip members, and help determine and organize events such as short-term regional and global missions trips.
2007 GOALS I. Evaluate * Benchmark comparable PCA church missions giving * Analyze Current Grace giving, recommend goals * Develop and Implement Policy for Evaluation and Support of Missionaries. Apply and make recommendations. * Identify areas of potential maximum impact II. Communicate * Continue Missions Moments, at least monthly * Provide website content * Consider newsletter/e-mail update program * Coordinate Missionary visits and provide regular updates III. Participate * Organize and sponsor regional missions trip in 2007 * Organize and sponsor short term global missions trip in 2008 * Organize and sponsor Missions Conference in Fall 2007 * Strengthen current local and regional Missions efforts * Identify a significant ministry that Grace can support as a church, possibly with other churches that has a meaningful impact on the community
